This outstanding facility is a hybrid mix of assisted living and personal care home. Our residents benefit from the facilities involvement with their daily needs, whether that would be medicine management, meal preparation, assistance with hydration, housekeeping or just someone to talk to.
The scheduled activities at this home are challenging, and keep the residents occupied. This licensed type B assisted living home (#125802) is under the direction of Texas Department of Aging and Disability. Should the resident have long-term care or VA benefits available, reimbursement can be expected. 
Unlike most assisted living facilities, Austin North is an enlarged house, located in a fine northwest Austin neighborhood. There are no exterior signs, and except for the state mandated postings on the inside, the house does not look like a facility, but resembles a normal home. Like all assisted living homes, we offer assistance with all daily living chores: from grooming, bathing and incontinent care to dressing and meal prep. We also handle all medicine management, and all doctor visits, home health visits, including therapies, are done at the house.
Most of our residents have endured some sort of physical debilitation, whether it is due to stroke, motor vehicle accident, or memory impairment due to dementia, so our agenda is to integrate them into a safe and friendly environment. Our staff is eager to continue any therapy or program suggested by home health therapists to ensure the rehab of our resident.
The type B certification indicates that the resident is in a safe secure environment. The night staff is always awake, attending to the needs of the resident. The interior of the home is outfitted with sprinklers, alarm system and is monitored 24 hours a day. Any suggestion of an emergency would bring emergency workers within minutes. As this is a type B facility, residents do not need to be discharged as their physical condition declines. We work very closely with numerous local hospice groups assuring that this difficult time is handled with the utmost dignity and professionalism.
